Shariq Hussain
President and CEO

As one of the founders of MEPS Real-Time, Shariq’s systems integration knowledge in RFID and information technology is critical for MEPS strategic growth. He has led the development of the MEPS from the beginning to its current status as a recognized leader in RFID medication management systems.
Beginning in 2001, his original role was Director of Systems Integration and in 2008 he assumed his current responsibilities. Previously, he worked for Howard Energy and Howard Publications as Director of Information Technology. In that role, he was responsible for establishing and managing a worldwide communications network for 36 companies in the group.
He was born in Islamabad, Pakistan and moved to the United States when he was sixteen. Shariq has a BS degree in Computer Science and Engineering from UCSD and an MBA in Technology Management from National University.
Jim Caputo
Vice President, Corporate Strategy

Another one of the founders of MEPS Real-Time, Jim is also one of the inventors on the company patents. Jim’s forward-thinking and 35 years of experience in the medical industry with Cardinal/Carefusion, IVAC Corporation, American Hospital Supply and other major medical device companies, brings sound strategic vision and judgment to our MEPS team.
In 1996, Jim and a partner, Mark Doyle founded Tiva Medical Inc. where they have created innovative medical products to keep pushing healthcare technology forward. Many of their inventions were licensed or sold and are embodied in healthcare products distributed worldwide. In 2005, Tiva Medical, Inc. and an investment group founded Kinetic Surgical, focusing on advanced technology in mechanical surgery. In 2008, Kinetic Surgical was sold to Cardinal Health
Jim has an AA degree in Electronics and BS degree in Industrial Technology, Electronics from Long Beach State.
Jay Williams
Vice President, Marketing and Business Development

Jay brings over thirty years of healthcare industry experience and relationships in distribution, manufacturing, start-ups and consulting to the marketing and business development of MEPS Real-Time.
At Devon Industries, now a division within Covidian, he held senior management positions in sales, marketing, R&D and business development. He was a partner and founder of SterilTek, Inc. now within Steris Corp. and Noved Medical, now within Smiths Medical. Most recently, Jay worked as a strategic marketing consultant in the defense and healthcare industries. In 2009, his market assessment and development project for MEPS led him to join our team.
Jay is a director at Safety Syringes, Inc. and has held executive management and consulting positions over that last twenty years. He has a BA degree in Marketing from Michigan State and an MBA degree from Pepperdine.
Paul Elizondo
Director, Engineering and R&D

As Director of Engineering and R&D since 2009, Paul focuses on the development and optimization of all RFID enabled systems within the Intelliguard™ product line. Paul is a recognized expert in his field and has enabled systems in most RFID frequency bands including applications in supply chain, airline baggage, vehicle identification and healthcare.
Previously, he was the Director, Systems Integration at SCS Corporation, a recognized early leader in both 2.45GHz and UHF technology development. He spent the first twenty years of his career in the integrated circuit industry working in the fields of design processing and test. He is an inventor on several patents ranging in subjects from wafer sorting to RFID applications.
Paul has a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State and since 2000 has actively participated on RFID industry technology committee’s including the ISO TC1/SC31/WG4/SG3 standard group and the US Technical Advisory Group.
Tom Hall
Vice President, Operations

Tom joined the MEPS team in 2010 after eleven years at Safety Syringes, Inc. His vital role in our growth and development places him with responsibility in the manufacturing of the Intelliguard™ product line and adherence to all FCC and FDA requirements.
At Safety Syringes, he was responsible for regulatory affairs and quality assurance during the significant growth years of the company. Previously, Tom has worked in manufacturing operations for other medical device companies including Pacific Device (Now Avail) and River Medical. At Taylor Made Golf, as a shift plant superintendant and a buyer/planner, he developed more efficient and standardized manufacturing methods and a strategic procedure to better utilize resources.
Tom has a BS degree in Industrial Technology from Colorado State and an MBA degree from San Diego State.
